Individual
therapy is one to one psychotherapy. We typically
see clients once a week unless the situation demands
more intensive work. |
People may have different objectives
for individual therapy. Some may have specific problems
or symptoms, for example, a phobia, or smoking habit, or
stress. Some people may seek therapy because of major issues;
they may be unhappy with the path their life has taken and
want to change. Some people may have been struggling with
depression for a long time and decide to work on it. Some
people are unhappy in their relationships or work.
The problem may be very specific that can be quickly addressed
or, may reflect lifelong emotional patterns and behavior.
For example, people experiencing anxiety and/or depression
may have been struggling with them for a long time. Their
symptoms may effect not only their personal happiness, but
also their relationships, achievements and future goals.
Original symptom is usually a manifestation of something
that has been going on for some time. |
