COGNITIVE BEHAVIOR THERAPY (CBT)
In any given situation, you have
thoughts, feelings and behaviors. Your thoughts, feelings,
and behaviors are interconnected. Life is not what happens
to you but what you think happens to you. Perception colors
your feelings. For example, if it rains at this moment, how
are you going to feel about it? You may think,
a) “Good, now my lawn is going to get green”,
or you may think,
b) “Gosh, I have to drive and the roads will be
all slippery”.
The situation in both cases is exactly the same, i.e.,
its raining. However, the way you feel about the rain will
be determined by whether your thoughts fit example a or b.
